For years, Polpol Khurd’s Government School stood as a reminder of neglect — broken furniture, cracked walls, and classrooms without safe drinking water or functioning toilets. The few students who came sat in dull, airless rooms, struggling to concentrate. For many families, school felt like an afterthought compared to the pressing need to work and survive.
That began to change when AIDENT, in partnership with HDFC Foundation, stepped in under its Model School initiative. The vision was simple yet transformative — to turn an ordinary government school into a vibrant, inclusive space where learning feels joyful again.
The school was completely renovated. A water purifier ensured safe drinking water. Separate functional toilets were constructed for boys and girls, ensuring dignity and safety. A lively library filled with storybooks replaced the empty corners, and motivational wall art brought energy to the classrooms. Most importantly, a smart classroom equipped with digital tools introduced children to interactive, visual learning.
Today, the school buzzes with life. Attendance is up, teachers are motivated, and children speak with confidence about their dreams. For students who once studied in silence, the sound of curiosity now fills the room proving that when we invest in dignity and infrastructure, education follows.
