Samajik Suvidha Kendra

Gender Resource Center is an innovative programme of Delhi Government that seeks to address the issues of socio�economic vulnerability of Delhi's marginalized and excluded communities. Rather than approaching different government department for various social entitlements; government machineries are reaching at their door step through these Centers.

Team AIDENT has been running one such Gender Resource Center in New Ashok Nagar and its surrounding catchment areas of Dallupura Village, Harijan Basti in East Delhi since September 2010. Through this center we are catering services to a population up to approximately 20,000 households.

Multi Prolonged strategies have been adopted by our team under the aegis Gender Resource Center for empowerment (Economic & Social) of these marginalized and vulnerable communities with particular emphasis on Women-

• Social empowerment of women through counseling, camps and awareness generation.


• Employability through vocational training and skills development


• Economic and social empowerment through promotion and strengthening of self-help groups and micro credit and micro finance access


• Health awareness & health services


• Nutrition awareness


• Functional literacy through non-formal education


• Legal awareness, counseling and aid


• Rights awareness and political empowerment


• Advocacy


• Dissemination of information about facilities, services and resources available at GRC-SK.


• Facilitating access to welfare entitlements and development programmes of the Government which are meant for weaker sections
